American Culture Program
An interdisciplinary seminar that will examine selected themes in American culture from the perspectives of faculty expertise. The course will include extensive reading and a tutorial writing component wherein the student will work individually with faculty on writing assignments. Credit hours: 4. Prerequisite: admission to the American Culture Program.
An interdisciplinary exploration of the ways Americans represent themselves in intellectual and popular culture from the nineteenth through the twenty-first centuries. By considering themes such as race, ethnicity, class, gender, and environment, students will examine visual, literary, and musical texts for the diverse and distinctive images of American. Credit hours: 4. Prerequisite: admission to the American Culture Program.
