This course examines the historical and contemporary US foreign policy issues and the process in which foreign policy is made and implemented. We examine 1) how international and domestic politics impact US foreign policy, 2) the available tools of foreign policy and their effectiveness, and 3) the major contemporary and historical themes in US foreign policy with a focus on national security issues.
