An interdisciplinary exploration of the ways Americans represent themselves in intellectual and popular culture from the nineteenth through the twenty-first centuries. By considering themes such as race, ethnicity, class, gender, and environment, students will examine visual, literary, and musical texts for the diverse and distinctive images of American.
