This course explores U.S. history through the lens of toys and games, examining how play reflects shifting cultural values, childhood norms, and national identity. From Barbie and GI Joe to Raggedy Ann and Life, we'll analyze playthings as historical texts, using primary and secondary sources to uncover how legislation, marketing, and imagination shaped American history.
